[Abstract]
The Codec Avatars Lab at Meta is developing a photorealistic telepresence system to enable people from different parts of the world to interact and communicate as if they were in the same room. To achieve this, we develop cutting-edge technology that combines computer vision, machine learning, and graphics research based on a novel neural reconstruction and rendering paradigm. In this talk, we will discuss the concept, functionality, and recent advancements of the telepresence system. With this system, we envision a future where people can connect with anyone, anywhere, at any time, as if they were sharing the same physical space.
