  •  Biography
    • Jonghoon Kwon is a senior researcher in the Department of Computer Science at ETH Zürich. He received his Ph.D., M.S., and B.S. in Computer Science from Korea University. His research focuses on computer network and security, from network virtualization, distributed systems to future Internet architecture. He is a co-designer of SCIONLab, a global next-generation network testbed.
  • Abstract
    • Adversaries can exploit inter-domain routing vulnerabilities to intercept communication and compromise the security of critical Internet applications. Path-aware networking (PAN) is a promising approach that enables endpoints to participate in end-to-end path selection. PAN unlocks numerous benefits, such as fast failover after link failures, application-based path selection and optimization, and native interdomain multi-path. In this talk, I will introduce what the next-generation Internet will look like, share our multi-year journey towards secure future Internet, and present the results of my recent work harnessing the true potential of future Internet architecture.
